Walking into most houses in Vancouver the first thing you will usually see is the staircase leading to the second floor. It can be the focal point in the foyer and sets the design of the rest of the house. We probably spend hours and hours in a year walking up and down those stairs. In my case I use the term "taking the stairs" as a daily exercise, since the idea of running outside in the winter does not sound appealing at all. So why not make these stairs and banisters little works of art and a little more fun? Here are some images I found through my pinterest account.

I know a slide would be a great way to go down and cut some time when I am rushing out of the house in the morning.

Continue the tree theme all the way up your staircase for a unique look.
