DIY: Bedside Tray

Frame that I made here, used shot glasses as a vase for my favourite flowers lillies and used a little tray to place jewellery at the end of the day.

I saw this cool bedside tray here and thought it would be a great addition to add to a side table. But paying $124 for a tray did not sound like a wise idea to me so I decided to make my own. I found my tray at a garage sale for $4 *happy dance* and as you can tell from the pictures below it was probably owned by a 5 year old girl.  The total cost of my project was $5.50 and I can now use the $118.50 that I saved on my next trip. Here is how I  update my tray from disney princesses to modern day chic.

My Inspiration

1. Here is what the tray looked like when I started. I took off all the side stickers and cleaned the tray.

2. Next I put on two coats of paint that was left over from when we painted my room. I left the disney princesses sticker because every girl wants to be a princess.

3. Measured out contact paper (I got a whole roll from the dollar store) for the inside of the tray. This  paper has a sticky side on the back so all you have to do is peel off the protective paper and stick.

4. Peeled of the protective contact paper lining and slowly stuck it to the inside of the tray.
